Delicious Recipe: Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegan, Clean Eating Ice Cream.

Yes, you read that title right. This "ice cream" is all of those things, and it still tastes delicious. As in, it was a huge hit with my extraordinarily picky husband and toddler. And the best part? You likely have the ONE (yes one) ingredient at your disposal already.

Are you ready? Here's what you'll need:

Bananas.

That's it! Well, and a freezer, a blender, a bowl of some sort...and a spoon. Or an ice cream cone if you prefer.

Simply peel some bananas (I used three for what is shown in the picture), put them in a container, and allow them to freeze (I left mine in the freezer overnight, although they would probably be ready after just a couple of hours).

Remove the bananas, throw them in the blender and... voila! You have a tasty, delicious, guilt free treat that the whole family will love.

You can dress this "ice cream" (some call it "banana swirl") with other berries, nuts, or even a little chocolate. If you ask me, this dessert is healthy enough to justify a little chocolate topping :)
Have any of you tried adding other fruit? I'm thinking that blending in a few strawberries would make this simply divine...

  1. I have heard this, that you can make ice cream with only bananas. I do think adding in some berries would make it even tastier--and hey, berries are known for their vitamins, right? Healthy!

    1. Yes exactly! Blueberries would bring it to a superfood-ultra-antioxidant-whole-new level-of-health. I need to try that.

    1. It really was. And the consistency was surprisingly just like ice cream :)
